Henderson scores 5 TDs as Tigers roar past Vikings
It was the Quadree Henderson show Friday night as the junior wide receiver had four touchdown receptions and ran for a fifth to lead A.I. du Pont to an easy 49-20 victory over St. Elizabeth in a nonconference matchup at Baynard Stadium.
Henderson scored on a 74-yard touchdown run to put A.I. ahead 7-6 in the first quarter, giving the Tigers a lead they would never relinquish. He then went on to catch touchdown passes of 12, 88, 11 and 50 yards from quarterback Freddie Heard.
St. Elizabeth quarterback Brendan McCloskey had touchdown passes of 27 and 18 yards to Joseph Schiavoni and Joey Carrow, respectively.
With the win, A.I. upped its record to 2-2, while the Vikings loss dropped them to 1-3.
Henderson, who finished with six catches for 190 yards, was named the 1290 The Ticket Crown Trophy Player of the Game.
