For the 6th consecutive season, 1290 The Ticket presents the Delaware High School Football Game of the Week. Every Friday night, 1290 The Ticket and 1290theticket.com will air a marquee matchup under the lights in New Castle County. The schedule includes reigning Division I Champions, Middletown, as well as 2012 contenders Salesianum, St. Mark’s, Hodgson, Caravel, St. Elizabeth and many more. For the second consecutive year, the season will debut on a Thursday night, as 1290 The Ticket teams up with the Delaware Foundation Reaching Citizens with Intellectual Disabilities to cover the DFRC Kickoff Classic on September 6th.
A trio of play by play announcers will provide coverage throughout the season, as Scott Klatzkin, Matt Janus and Matt Pencek will all rotate games. Klatzkin also serves as the “Voice of the Delaware Blue Hens” on 94.7 WDSD and Janus can be heard as the sideline reporter during the Blue Hens football games. Pencek will serve in his first season with the broadcast crew, while Jon Buzby of the Newark Post and Max Preps will provide color analysis for his fourth season.
Each week, the Glasgow Medical Aid Units Pre-Game Show will air 30 minutes before kick-off and will feature an in depth look at the matchups and news from the weekend’s action, as well as an interactive Weekly Picks segment allowing fans to win Arby’s gift cards for selecting the correct scores. The games will also feature a halftime report and the American Spirit Federal Credit Union Post-Game Show. During the post-game show, the broadcast team will select a Player of the Game, who will receive a customized trophy from Crown Trophy of People’s Plaza.

This is the 5th consecutive season that WWTX-AM has given out these trademark posters and the third straight year that Royal Pest has designed and provided these fan favorites.
In addition to each game broadcast, 1290 The Ticket’s website, 1290theticket.com will also feature High School coverage. Throughout the week fans will be able to find game highlights, interviews, videos, weekly picks and weekly rankings. Both the 1290 The Ticket / DIFCA Coaches’ Poll and the News Journal / delawareonline Top 10 polls for D-I and D-II will be posted each Tuesday throughout the season. The Coaches’ poll, in its third season, teams WWTX and the Delaware Interscholastic Football Coaches Association to select the Top 10 teams in each division.
