In his final home game, Senior Jordan Johnson led unranked Brandywine to a 65-60 upset win against 6th ranked A.I. duPont. The former #1 ranked team in the state, A.I., was led by a 16 point effort by Braxton Watson, but it wasn't enough to eclipse the Bulldogs on the road. A monster game from Jordan Johnson earner his the Crown Trophy Player of the Game Award as he finished with 18 points, 15 rebounds and 5 blocked shots. This was B-Wine's final regular season game before the playoffs.
Newark High School defeated school district rival Glasgow High School 66-56 on Tuesday evening to celebrate the Yellowjackets' Senior Night. Marquis Clarke, a Senior playing in his final home contest put on a show, scoring 15 points and dishing out 7 assists to be named the Crown Trophy Player of the Game. Two other seniors, Jamar McGriff and Shikei Blake, along with junior Jahsun Greer all added double figure scoring for NHS. The 17 points from Glasgows's Tyrell Sturdivant were not enough to defeat the 8th ranked 'Jackets.
