In one of the most exciting broadcasts in 1290 The Ticket Game of the Week history, the 3rd ranked A.I. duPont Tigers defeated William Penn 75-60 in overtime. Crown Trophy Player of the Game, Braxton Watson, hit a game tying three pointer with 10 seconds left in regulation to make the score 58-58 after four quarters. Watson's three pointer and the Tigers' 17-2 overtime dominance negated an amazing night by William Penn's TJ Johnson.
After scoring just three points in the first half, Johnson exploded with 23 second half points including five three pointers off an array of crossover and step back dribbling. 1290 The Ticket broadcaster, Scott Klatzkin, called it "one of the most exciting individual efforts in six seasons of High School basketball on 1290 The Ticket." A.I. duPont escaped what would have been a big upset as the Tigers improved to 9-0 on the season and the Colonials fell to 1-8 on the year.
